Ariana Grande announced the release of her sixth studio album, dubbed AG6, for later October. The “7 Rings” singer has said she was working on new music during lockdown. She even set up a bedside studio so she could move on middle-of-the-night inspirations.
The sooner-than-expected announcement surprised fans even though Grande teased fans in an a October 7th tweet. She shared a cloudy and cropped selfie surrounded by musical instruments and wrote “turning in these mixes and reminding u again to register to vote if u haven’t already / to vote early.”
“I can’t wait to give u my album this month,” she tweeted. The star gave no further details about a specific release date or the album’s title.

Excited fans named October “the best month of 2020.” One wrote “… Ariana Grande’s new album, has what it takes to save 2020!” Another posted, “Ariana Grande just announced a new album and I think it’s the remedy 2020 needs.”
Collaboration with Tayla Parx
Her collaborator Tayla Parx shared a screenshot of Ariana’s tweet on her own Instagram. She updated her story telling “I’m too hyped for y’all to hear this.” Her manager Scooter Braun also shared it and included a “mindblown” emoji.
Tayla revealed, “We just kind of let it happen naturally, same way as the last album.”
The artist has filled both her Twitter and Instagram channels with extracts of original music updates throughout the quarantine. And she liked one fan’s tweet about “Nasty” being on the track list. Another clue.
Fans Muse On Featured Artists
There’s speculation that American singer/songwriter and rapper Doja Cat is part of the new drop. In a May interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Ari said she was “obsessed” with Cat. She said “I was able to work with her earlier this year on this song that I want to save for whenever it’s time again to drop.”
Fans are wondering if The Weeknd may be featured on the collection after he retweeted Grande’s release statement.
Rumors of a collaboration with the Bangtan Boys or Jungkook, are are also in the air. Some filmed vocals that sounded similar to Ariana’s sharings, have surfaced. There have been meetings and both Ariana and BTS have upcoming albums.
2020 Has Been Active For The Artist
Grande has been active this year. The pandemic-inspired duet with Justin Bieber “Stuck With You” released in May 2020. A few weeks afterward, she debuted “Rain On Me” with Lady Gaga.
